 | | Museo del Giocattolo e del Bambino This museum is located in a bleak, surreal part of Milan's outskirts, not far from the Tangenziale Est motorway and opposite a military area with high walls concealing a succession of strange pyramidal structures. It consists of a large collection of toys dating from 1700 to 1960, with many rare pieces, tin toys, trains, soldiers, toy theatres, model cars and aeroplanes, etc. The exhibition layout is rather cramped and has an improvised feel to it, but the wealth of material (including a reconstructed 19th century classroom) makes it a treat for those interested in the subject. Captions are in Italian only. There is a small playroom, not very exciting.
