Air One http://www.alitalia.com
The Air One fleet currently comprises 27 modern two-jet Boeing B737's - the most popular airplanes used for scheduled flights throughout the world and also used by companies such as Air France, British Airways, KLM and Lufthansa.
Air One has a number of different versions of the Boeing B737. Airplanes are currently undergoing complete internal restyling with leather seats, increased space between rows of seats and other improvements. When this work is completed, the fleet will comprise 179-seat 737-800's, 156-seat 737-400's, 136-seat 300's, 116-seat 230's and 120-seat 200's.
Advanced instrumentation for landing in fog
The Boeing 737's bought by Air One are equipped with the most advanced flight instruments available for each model, comprising EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrumentation System), FMS (Flight Management System), latest generation coasting platforms and equipment for landing under class IIIA low visibility conditions.
Noiseless engines
Air One Boeing 737-800, -400, -300 and -230 engines are certified to the purposes of ICAO "Chapter 3" and therefore very quiet - an element much appreciated by those living nearby airports.
B737-800's ,-400's and -300's have CFM-56 engines, whereas -230's have JT8D's with "hush kits".
Safety
Flight Commander Avolio is the Quality System Auditor for Operations with regards to certification to the purposes of European Law JAR-OPS 1.
The General Director is directly responsible for the Flight Safety Organization, which in turn is headed by Flight Commander Giorgio Amoroso - Director of Air One Flight Operations for five years.
Technical support
The Air One Technical Division in Ciampino is responsible for maintenance up to annual level (so-called "8A Maintenance").
More complex work is carried out by experienced and expert outside companies that are certified to the purposes of European Law JAR 145. Air One relies on the most qualified operators for work above level 8A - such as Lufthansa Technik, which is currently the leading external supplier of maintenance operations.
However, all maintenance and revision operations are controlled by ENAC and experienced Air One technicians. |
